MSBA is offering this webinar to inform potential school board candidates as the date for filing nears. For most school districts with elections this year, filing starts July 28 and ends August 11.

Closes: August 11, 2020 at 5:00 PM
School board members will be elected on the November 3, 2020 General Election.
Terms are four years, and there will be three seats up for election this November.
Candidates file an Affidavit of Candidacy with the school district clerk. (*2020 electronic filing is allowed)
Filing fee is $2.00

Whenever a campaign has either received or spent $750, it triggers a requirement for candidates to file a campaign finance report.
All candidates - no matter how much money is raised -- must file a final campaign finance report seven days after the election.

A candidate may use the dropbox located outside the Community Education Office:
- Affidavit of Candidacy (requires notarization)
- Address of Residence Form (used if private data box is checked on the affidavit of candidacy)
